地球上にはいろいろな物質循環系が存在します.しかし、人間活動の拡大につれ、多くの物質が消費・放出され、環境の質を劣化させています.水環境はまさにそのようです。これを改善するためには新しい水インフラや要素技術による循環系の創出が必要です.それらが本来の循環系を支え地域社会に普及すれば持続的な社会に近づいていくと思います.
このような考えを基に、水環境に関する以下のような研究を行っています.

There are various biogeochemical cycles on the earth. However, as human activity expands, many substances are consumed and released, deteriorating the quality of the environment. The water environment is just like that. In order to improve this, it is necessary to create new water infrastructures with innovative technologies and systems. If they support the original cycles and disseminate in the community, I think we will approach a sustainable society.
Based on this idea, we are conducting the following researches in the field of water environment.

学生にはそれぞれに研究を頑張ってもらい、その成果を外部に発信し、同時に多くの人と意見を交わしてもらいたい.そのための機会の提供や助言をすることが私の役目です.
I would like each student to do their best in their research, disseminate the results to the outside, and at the same time exchange opinions with many people. It is my job to provide these opportunities and give advice for that purpose.
どのようなことに対してもチャレンジする心を持ってほしい.なぜなら、たくさん実験・ディスカッションしてたくさん失敗してこそ、視野が広がり、より良い成果が得られると思うからです.またそこにオリジナリティを持たせるとなおいいですね.
I want students to have the heart to challenge anything. Because I think that better results can be obtained by having a lot of experiments with discussions and making a lot of mistakes, which can broaden our view points. It would be even better to give it originality.
